All of our cottages are checked in between each group of Guests to confirm that everything is in order for your arrival.
Important guest information:
- Pillows and blankets are provided.
- Bed sheets, indoor and outdoor towels and kitchen linens are not provided - you will need to bring your own. Bed sizes are indicated in the listing.
- Please note that the single beds are extra long and the owner suggests queen sheets for all beds.
- You will need to clean the cottage and grounds as well as remove all garbage and food when you check out.
- Should we have to do an emergency clean and/or remove any garbage/recycling, fees will be applied per the Terms and Conditions you agreed to.
- BBQ Gas is provided.
- Smoking/vaping and the lighting of candles is not permitted within the cottage.
- Please be sure to watch and clean up after your dog and do not allow it to wander to the neighbour’s property.

Remember to bring:

Drinking water - Tap water is from the lake and is only used for cooking and bathing. Please bring drinking water. There is a water dispenser at the cottage. The owner will provide a starter jug for you.
We encourage guests to not bring single use plastic water bottles. - Properly sized life jackets for everyone participating in water activities (pertaining to summer bookings).
- Toilet paper, paper towel and tissue - a starter supply is provided so please replenish what you use.
- A flashlight with fresh batteries for those dark evenings!
A Welcome Book, located on the kitchen table, contains important guest information upon your arrival - please ensure you familiarize yourself with its contents, such as:
- garbage information - please bring Clear Garbage Bags, there is no compost program - all compost goes into household, recycling is mandatory with details in the welcome book
- location of cleaning supplies
- power failure instructions
- primary contact information.

- Non-Refundable Booking Fee: $175.00 per stay plus HST
Payment Notes
There is a deposit required of 30% of the rental rate plus the Non-Refundable Booking Fee and HST upon booking and we will use your VISA or MC.
The balance is due 60 days in advance of your arrival by email transfer, post-dated cheque or credit card.

Guest Comments: We enjoyed our stay very much, the cottage was clean, quiet and had all of the amenities. If I could recommend anything it would be more indoor activities are needed for those rainy days.

Guest Comments: We absolutely loved our stay at this cottage. We've rented through Cottage Care a few times over the years and this is by far our favourite and we are eager to stay there again in future years. The very only negative (which was not unmanageable, and didn't make our stay any less enjoyable) was the cleanliness. The cottage was tidy and bathroom/kitchen was clean but it didn't really look like there had been a good deep clean done in quite some time. We dusted up the best we could but it could have used a good vacuum throughout. It didn't take away any of our enjoyment though, and we are extremely grateful for our time spent here!

Guest Comments: Hawks Rest is a great cottage with a terrific location. I still think a better dish rack would improve the kitchen experience and to this I'd add keeping the knives in the knife block sharp - cooking ends up being something you always spend time at so any improvements in this area are likely to return benefits that outweigh the costs.

Guest Comments: We loved the location of the cottage and the lake that it is on. The cottage was clean and met our expectations. One of the loungers at the dock had a large tear in it and could not be used. It was like that when we arrived. The bathroom heater came on in the morning some of the days. We could not figure out how to turn it off or on but it eventually went off. The package included for the dump sites was from 2021 so we had to drive to Dorset one of the days as it was the only location that was open. We enjoyed our week. The sunsets were amazing.
