What to expect:
* Water – Drinking water comes in through the drilled well and runs through a filtration system; great for drinking.
* Linens/towels – You need not bring a thing! Pillows, blankets, and mattress protectors are provided. Bed sheets, indoor and outdoor towels are provided in complimentary cleaning/linen package.
* Cleaning - Clean on departure service provided. Guests are still required to leave the cottage tidy, all food removed, garbage and recycling (properly sorted as per Welcome Book instructions) and taken to the landfill on departure using provided pass.
* BBQ Gas is provided via direct hook-up to cottage propane.
* Smoking/vaping and the lighting of candles is not permitted within the cottage.
* Highland House owners will allow one small-medium adult non-shedding dog on approval.
* Please be sure to watch and clean up after your dog and do not allow it to wander to the neighbour's property.
* Important: the driveway into the cottage is a very steep grade with moderately loose gravel. Only 4x4 or all-wheel drive vehicles are able to come back up the driveway from the parking area. There is parking for 1 front-wheel/2WD vehicle at the top of the driveway that would involve a walk down the steep grade into the cottage.
* Water levels at the lake: you may notice that, when you arrive at the cottage, the lake level/shoreline may be different from the photos you saw on the listing. That's because water levels are controlled by the Trent-Severn Waterway(TSW). Historically, this means lake levels tend to be higher in June-July and drawn down in August-September.
